PVC Versus Epoxy Powder Coating

3/31/2009

Did you know that SCHULTE uses epoxy powder coating instead of polyvinyl chloride (PVC)? Epoxy powder coating is more durable and more environmentally responsible than PVC.

PVC cannot be effectively recycled and is harmful to both human health and the environment due to chemicals that are released during its production, use and disposal.

While some of SCHULTE's competition continues to use PVC, many builders are reducing its use to lower the carbon footprint of the homes that they build. In addition, many retailers are phasing it out completely including Nike, Target, Dell and Apple.

Epoxy powder coating is nearly 100% recyclable and releases no harmful VOCs into the environment. Builders who make the simple switch to SCHULTE receive stronger, environmentally friendly products, as well as more points toward LEED certification.

SCHULTE's new green impact sell sheet is available on the dealer extranet for you to download and share with your local builders. Show them how easy it is to make the change!
