Installer's Corner

By Barry Day, Senior Product Specialist

When I train our installers the proper method of installing any of SCHULTE's screw driven hardware - such as the melamine anchors, Tri Loc and Strong Loc, I always make sure they understand how important it is to fully activate the anchors. The only thing that can compromise the strength of our system is if they are improperly installed.

Because these types of anchors are new to a lot of people, I try to impress upon installers the need to run the screw all the way in. I tell them to give it an extra two or three seconds burst to make sure it rosettes fully behind the wall. SCHULTE designed the system so that it cannot be over tightened, or stripped out as some refer to it.

Versa-clip, Strong Loc and Melamine anchors are unique in their holding power, but also in the way that they must be installed. Take some time, and a small piece of scrap drywall to practice running a few in. Look at the back of the drywall and get used to the feel of the anchor as it rosettes up. Make sure you fully activate the anchor by running it that extra little bit. That will insure that it is SCHULTE STRONG!
