Builders can move homes that need to be sold by enhancing the areas of the home that are important to home buyers, most importantly storage.
For instance, Better Homes and Gardens discovered in a recent survey of 2,000 home owners that the right amount and type of storage was their second priority when buying a home. And closets were listed as the second most desired feature in a dream home in the 2006 national study by Roper Research - second only to a state-of-the-art kitchen.
"The average price of a professionally-installed closet upgrade after move-in is $4,400 according to a study by Vance Publishing Corporation, which proves that home buyers are willing to pay for the right storage system to personalize their home," said Donna Boehm, marketing director at SCHULTE. "And a builder can add this storage solution for a fraction of that amount and gain profits instead of dropping the sale price of the home. "
Storage solutions, like SCHULTE's Classica or freedomRail products, can easily be added to standing inventory homes. These production-oriented products are both wall mounted so there is no interference with the flooring. In addition, SCHULTE's breadth of product options offers storage at the right price point for any level of home.
"After the storage is installed, staging can help the home and storage areas seem warm and inviting," continued Boehm. "Adding the upgrades and finishing details is key to winning over a home buyer and is a great way to avoid slashing prices."
