CINCINNATI, OH (November 1, 2005) - SCHULTE Corporation, headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, recently opened its new Bloomington, Indiana, manufacturing and distribution center.
SCHULTE Corporation has experienced dramatic growth in the past few years that has led to the need for a much larger facility. "Meeting the demands of our growing business required that we hire new employees, add additional manufacturing equipment and expand our distribution center. We completely outgrew our former location," said John Kokenge, President and CEO of SCHULTE Corporation. This will be the third time SCHULTE has expanded since moving manufacturing to Bloomington in 1986.
This year-long project brought SCHULTE's manufacturing and distribution facilities under one roof. At 630,000 square feet, the new location is nearly double the size of SCHULTE's former locations, which were just over 346,000 square feet total. SCHULTE's total investment in the new facility will reach $20 million.
With this move, SCHULTE has also dramatically improved manufacturing efficiency and production. A new state-of-the-art powder coating line has increased manufacturing capacity by 25 percent while producing less waste. Other changes including better layout of manufacturing equipment, improved material flow and adding a dedicated power substation, have contributed to improved efficiency as well. SCHULTE customers will benefit from an expanded and highly-efficient distribution center that will allow for faster pulling and shipping of orders.
